Hi,

I am looking at getting an IS350 ML Nav and was wondering if the Nav system has traffic. My Garmin unit has that and I find it says me a lot of time and headache about once a week.

I think only the LS and LX have real-time traffic.

 

My '08 350 with ML and NAV does not display traffic info.

Maybe the '09 IS will, although there is no official word.

 

Can this be a software update or hardware? I hope software

 

I highly doubt that it will be in the '09 models, if it was planned I'm sure it would've been mentioned along with the minor exterior changes.

 

Nav does not display traffic. I have sirius so i just tune into their traffic channel and it has saved me in the past.

 

My dealer guy told me that it has the software but in dallas we dont have any radio stations that offer over the air traffic.

He said that it can and thats why we have the TRAF button but theres no one who i guess will send it to our cars for free.

 

google maps on my blackberry works just fine

Shocker- your dealer has no idea what he's talking about.

My car doesn't even -have- nav and I still have a TRAF button.

The Traf button is if any local radio stations broadcast a traffic signal which, like RDS, very few in the US do. If they did you'd just hear it on the radio, has NOTHING to do with the nav unit.

 

Thanks. This is a shame. I love being able to see the traffic alert, potential delay, description of the problem, and press a button to route me around the problem. A couple of months ago it saved me from an hour delay when they closed the highway ahead. For a commuter car this is a near must have.
