Arrow About the Illuminated Scuff Plates

I am going to install the ISP on my 08 IS250. First I need to pull the old plastic scuff plates off.

Could someone show me how to pull that old plate off? Where should my hand or finger hold the plate so that I can pop the clip easily (or where are the clips located at)? I am afraid to break any clip and leave it stuck in the car so I want to make sure everything is prepared before taking action.

Also I saw on Sewell's website that they also sell the steel plates for the rear doors, but they description says 'Kit includes both driver and passenger side rear sill plates as shown on the 2006 Lexus IS Luxury Package.' So will it also fit 08 model? Will the old plates in the rear be pulled off the same way as the front doors?

Just pull up on them, don't be afraid. Same goes for the rear...and yes it will fit the 08 model.

grab the old plates from the inside corners, and just pull. you might have to do a series of strong jerks to get those clips out.

Yeah like they said... just pull up from the inside corners. It makes an awful sound but don't worry.

I am afraid to just pull up on the scuff plate moulding - the service manual says to use a moulding remover.
Is it really possible to just "yank on them" without damaging the clips?

Don't worry about damaging your old clips. Your new scuffs should come with their own set of clips. I'm a skinny girl with little arms, and I managed to pull mine off fine (just takes a few good yanks).

I think the rear plates (that are suppose to match the front illuminated plates) only come as stainless steel non-lit. I just bought the front illuminated set and left my rear plates stock (since nobody really sees my back seat anyway).

^ I agree with Little E
IMO you can save the money for the rear stainless steel non-lit and use it
for other things..
just ordered mine yesterday (the illuminated front door sills)

when you pull out the stock plates does it have a wire plug or do you have to make your own wiring so it lights up?

100% plug and play for 07s and up, plug and play on 06s for sport package cars
