Default Zenon Depot 6000K HID Problem

Having issue with drivers side HID. Bulb fires when car is started, stays on for approx 2 minutes then shuts off. Only happens with drivers side. Is it a bulb issue or ballast issue?

I had the same issue. I switched the bulbs and had less problems with the driver's side going out. But now I notice that the driver's side still goes out every so often, but nearly as much as before.

This is becoming a trend with the driver's side bulb going out, then being able to be turned back on by turning it on and off. I am starting to firmly believe that Xenon's bulbs are not the issue here. Maybe the driver's side ballast can't maintain the voltage for the higher watt/kelvin (whatever) bulbs. Maybe it is a case where we need to install abetter ballast than the stock ones....maybe then can I get the blueish tint I want from my 8000k bulbs...?

First of all its Xenon Depot

and I don't think its them or the quality of the bulbs. This is too common of a problem with members on here and the drivers side. So there must be a current issue or something that is different on the Drives side of the car to be causing so many issues....The question is what and how to find out?!?!?

yeah a lot of times a batch of HID bulbs are a hit or miss lol so it COULD be the bulbs

like a previous member said...switch the bulbs if the bulb in question goes off on the passenger side...then time to swap those bulbs =)

check to see if your ground is nicely fastened. i forget which side it was but one side shut off on me before and when i turned the lights off and turned it back on it worked fine. Tightened my grounds and nothing has happened since then. my xendon depot 6500K has woked awesome since the day i got it

Hmmm. Is it pretty apparent where to tighten the ground? Once again, I have no clue how I would do that.

i had the same problem but it was not my bulbs.. the passenger ballast was not grounding right so i ended up adding an extra ground wire from the ballast to the body.. its worked fine since..

I'm having the same problem, with the 6000K bulbs from Zenon Depot, I swaped the bulbs this afternoon from side to side to see what happens, but I'm pretty sure is the bulb.

mine's on my passenger side actually.......intermittent problem. hate to ask a forum vendor for a replacement - it'd ruin the color match =(

if it's the same vendor it shouldn't be a problem on color matching unless your bulbs are old and used frequently that it colorshifts. as for HID's not firing up correctly: it's a problem on MANY cars but i've seen this happen on a toyota camry, toyota avalon and lexus IS. see a trend?

it's probably more to do with the way toyota/lexus set up their electrical system that it causes a problem on one side. of course no one has pinpointed this exact problem yet so like others said, switch bulbs and try that. then move on to check other problems. worse comes to worse you can request for a replacement bulb.

my xenon depot kit (9006 Fog Light Kit) came with loose pins in the connectors.

they weren't working when i test fired them and I located the 3 problem pins. The color was supposed to be 3000k Yellow but they came out green.

Going to replace those bulbs with another companies bulbs.

I was kinda disappointed in this kit's quality.

Removed the drivers side bulb, re-installed. Appeared to be a loose connection. Working O.K.now.
