Default How do you know if you're rubbing?

Hi, I just put on my new wheels last week. And lowered it on Tein CS coilovers. I am dropped about half finger all around. How do you know if you are rubbing? Can you tell visually? Because when I am hitting a bump on the freeway or on the floor it makes a scrape sound. I am not sure if I am rubbing my tires or am I hitting the under body of my car. The black plastic piece that sticks out under the car. On my tires, the outer wall is alot darker/blacker than the middle. I will try to post some pictures tonight.

check the plastic on the fender or ur wheels. u should see lil mark probably when ur turning. or just have someone turn the wheels left to right to see if they rub.

The thing is, right now, i have about a half inch clearance from the fender to the wheel right now. But when I am going over a bump on the freeway at highspeed i hear alittle scrape sound. I am not sure if its from my tires or from my under body. I have enough clearance for full turn. On full turn on left and right though.

When u hear that sound pull over and see if u smell rubber. If thats the case then yea it did scrape. I'm not a wheel person myself and I'm upgradin as well. A half inch i think is good enuff imo.

It's probably rubbing. There's a much bigger chance that your tires are rubbing while on the freeway than you actually bottoming out. I just put new wheels on yesterday and it rubs when going over bumps on the freeway. And my car isn't even lowered yet. You can usually see rub marks on the tires if you're rubbing.

You're rubbing. If you were bottoming out your car, it would be very loud, as in metal meets concrete. Bam! Rubbing is a very quick, fairly loud sound, but it isn't harsh, like the sound of metal hitting concrete would be.

Most likely you are rubbing with the metal bracket that holds our front bumper in place. Im trying to find a way to move that bracket forward so we cant eliminate the rubbing issues.

The thing is i dont see any rub mark. I dont notice any at the moment. I cant be scraping the rubber piece under the car? It sticks out and is very noticable. What metal thing are you guys talking about? My wheel spec in front are 19x8.5 with 235/35/19 tires. My car is about 1 finger from the tires to the top fenderwall where the screws are.
