the sirius modules can be bought directly from our sponsored vendor Vaistech. You can buy the Sirius tuner separately yourself. You may want to check out their site as they have newer models (at least looking from that pic looks like the older version). Most of use who have bought the units installed them ourselves since its plug and play. The hard part is taking apart the center console, but there is an old DIY thread which describes how to do it.
I agree get it direct from the vendor and you can install it yourself if you feel comfortable. They are plug and play and so its just removal of some dash peices and the sharfin/antenna is in the trunk on the passenger side. you can see pics of this in the DIY thread for XM.
If you get the XM its a little less work to install?

well can someone link how to take out the head unit and how to get to the shark fin?...so getting someone to install this for me if i bought all the stuff is out the question???
Im sure the dealer would install it for you bro, might charge an arm and leg for the labor. Also there is a search function on this forum, probably a good place to start trying to find how to do the install yourself.

I wouldn't pay the dealer either and you are not installing the dealer kit. IceZ this is a different kit them you have.
here is the DIY for the XM install. You do not have to remove the whole trunk. I just pulled the right corner out to access everything. You only need the antenna plug and its tapped right next to where the XM receiver box mounts with the key less entry system. you are going to have to run that wire all the way to the front of the car.... this is why I say much easier to install the XM.

here is a thread that shows the removal of the head unit and what is required to do it. Its not that hard but just takes some time. This is what the dealer would have to do to remove it for you. just follow the removal process and you are good to go. Its probably a 1.5 hour install job to complete everything.

I am sure people here or local to you can help you out as you install

The sirius unit does -not- install the same way as the XM unit. It's not plug and play to the sharkfin and it doesn't go in the same location either.

The way I see it, you are already paying upwards of $400 for the hardware and probably paid somewhere in the mid-$30K range for the car.
For another $400 or so, I'd rather they be responsible for anything that may happen either during the install (scratches, problems with dash, peripheral damage while working with tools, etc) or after the install (dash rattles, proper operation, etc).
If you go in with any dash related issue later, my fear would be that they blame it on your handiwork. And if something's not working right with the Sirius unit or it needs attention later, you have to take everything apart again.
In my opinion, for $400 I'd rather not have to worry about it.
At this point I would think it'd make more sense to just install the XM unit, which is like $300 for hardware, easy to do yourself, is totally plug and play, and doesn't go anywhere near the dashboard.
The XM/Sirius merger finally closed, so in another month or two you'll be able to get eithers programming on either receiver (or pick and choose a-la-carte between em)

Just to clarify something, the Sirius kit is completely plug and play, however, it does not connect to the sharkfin. You would have to use an antenna that comes with the sirius tuner kit. I'm not positive, but I think some have used the sharkfin for sirius via some special cable (which may have been the one in OP's second link, but pricey). I just used the antenna that came with the tuner.
below I am pasting the product info that the OP is using for everyone to see:
The LEXSIR Sirius Satellite Radio interface package is a direct plug-n-play input, with the included SIRIUS Connect Tuner and another RCA Line level accessory onto many 2004-2008 Lexus vehicles that are satellite ready. One input allows you to connect a SIRIUS Connect Unit (INCLUDED) directly to your Satellite Ready factory radio. It will display artist information, Radio station name, and a song name on your Navigation screen or Radio LCD screen in some models.
The package allows you to receive digital SIRIUS Satellite Radio directly through the Toyota/Lexus OEM head unit. It seamlessly integrates Sirius Receiver module disconnected from DEI (Directed Electronics) SIRIUS Connect Tuner into the OEM audio system.
You can now control your Satellite Radio Receiver through the vehicle's head unit and audio steering wheel controls and enjoy your Satellite Radio outstanding sound quality in your car without Cassette Adapters, FM Transmitters or FM Modulators. This included adapter also has an uncontrolled Auxiliary input. SLS provides direct Plug-and-Play connection to '05-'08 Toyota/Lexus OEM audio system and supports vehicles whether they are equipped with Navigation System or not.
The second input is universal and will allow you to connect any RCA line level accessory including DVD players, MP3 players, or game systems audio directly to your existing factory stereo.
