what is there to explain???
The car will not go into reverse if at certain speeds if you driving forward. Safety feature... but the camera is probably linked into the reverse switch. Kind of like backup lights.

theres a hack that allows you to turn on the rear view camera whenever you want, you can even tap into the input and hook up a ps2 for example
