You figure that a 45 thousand dollar car would have a oem tire in the trunk..
Even Jeep has a realy tire in the back..
Lexus has to do something bout this..

I think all the other Lexus cars have full sized except the IS due to the fact that we have staggered wheels

i have a 250 awd and my tires are not staggered. that being said, my spare tire is still the same yellow spare. though for RWD models, the staggered wheel setup might be the cause, I think it's more about space than anything. They would either have to set in the hole deeper which may not have worked with the frame or set the top cover higher, thus decreasing the already relatively small trunk.

Just be glad you HAVE a spare tire. My 335i has none because of their crappy run flat tires they put on the car. I replaced mine with non RF tires and now I drive around without any spare because there isn't even any space for a mini spare in the trunk. I do have a compressor/ can of Fix a Flat /Green Slime in the trunk. The spare tire is suppose to be run for only a few miles. Either Toyota had some left over paint that they wanted to get rid of or they figured that if they made the color of the wheel that ugly, owners would be embarrassed to drive around with it for any extended period.

Default If this is supposed to be a Luxury Car, that is not a

Luxury spare. I get the size because of the small space left for a spare anyway, but geez, did they find the wheels on a tractor or something?? The color and design is so far removed from the rest of the car's striking lines and design, someone had a bad brainfart and this is the result.
If everyone complains to the Company enough maybe somewhere down the line they might think about fixing this.
Guess we are going to have to research what size this skinny wheel is and find an alternative if possible that looks not like a dang tractor tire riding on a luxury car.
Great work on your spare to get it silver, I will do the same thing but not sand the paint all off, as it looks like a decent paint job, albeit the baby-poop color..

Have to agree! Even though spare is not really worth the argument...but wow! that's some bad choice of color. At least leave it at a silver/metal color.

That's almost asking people to pay attention to your ugly flat. ><
