it could be removed, but the whole point of this mod is to make it look like oem. Like the beamer 1 series or something that i saw with the nav sticking out like that or the mercedes but they have a motor to close. I don't want to cut the hole bigger or put a motor into the lid, too much work.

not hard just be patient and experience and a heat gun. if you installed your redout, it's the same procedures but with a heat gun.

There's only a speaker there if you have the ML audio.

That's cool putting a display sticking up like that, I hadn't thought of that.

GPS is an Xroad V4150, 4.3" modified with Miomap 3.3, Igo8, and Destinator base. 3 navigation softwares all with updated maps, so i will never get lost. There is no ML system so no speaker there, took the grill off and it turned into a good lid. GPS came with a little craddle that fitted perfectly with some modified brackets or you can just use zip ties but brackets are much nicer. cut a piece of black plastic to cover the front left coner because it has a weird L shape and the screen has to be centered. Ran the speakers and power wire hidden into the dash's front. Now when i listen to music or watch movies it will come out to the AUX and car speakers. Made the Lexus logo screen to accomidate the car. those things on the vents are Giga fresh scene (air spencer/freshner).

Is heat gun recommended? I can't use a hair dryer?

hair dryer might work but slower than a heat gun, and i used a hair dryer to do a windows tint job and it didn't work out too well. The clear bra is different, so I don't know.
