Yea I would end up with the S4 again or possibly the RS4...I dont think having had the S4 in the past that I would be happy with the A4...Plus the A4 is probably a step down from HP then my IS?? I like the BMW and walked out of the gym tonight to see a nice new M3 and was drooling over all that was done to it. The only problem is the gas prices and that was one of a few reasons I dumped the S4....I just know how I will drive the car on a daily basis! But I need to do some more research first before I make the leap. If I could push 75 more HP out of the IS then it would be a keeper for me. There is just nothing out there for our car and if I jump back to the other side the sky is the limit. Those guys get all the love when it comes to the performance mods.

keep us posted on what happens tomorrow!

Talk is cheap. There have been others who struck out with dealers who said they could get the IS350 spec'ed to their desires, and then failed. By all means let them see what they can do, but hold firm on the 'must have' options, and think about the ones you could do without if they found the car you wanted. Doubtful they will find a car floating around with EVERYTHING that you want. Miracles happen, but the IS350 supply still isn't that good, and the ones in dealers stock don't have a lot of options. That's just my experience.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

^^ When you sit down with your sales person...

You must explicit that you want a "SPECIAL ORDER" placed with Lexus USA/JAPAN ordering system..

Special Orders and/or order allocations are accepted on or around the 20th of every month.

Most of the problems that your read about here are because dealers say they ordered your car, but in reality all they did was place a "Preference Order"
- Which means if a car just so happens to be built they way you want, it will be routed to your dealer.. This can take forever and ever..

Joe Z

P.S. - Make sure you have a conversation with the Sales manager or the person in charge of ordering/allocating cars for the dealership.

Thanks,Joe.
I'll speak to the sales manager today and mention I want a Special Order placed with Lexus USA/JAPAN ordering system and not a Preference Order.
Just puzzles me why orders are to be taken in Aug when in previous years others like yourself, ordered in June/July which makes for a Oct/Nov delivery which I would like over a Dec/Jan winter delivery.
Kurtz does make a great point in another thread on why there's a later ordering date. There just may be a 3rd year refresh or because of the coupe I wouldn't want.

^^ Even if there is a refresh... (no comment).. Everything is more than likely ready to go for it..

By this coming end of June, the dealership should know when 09' orders are going to be allocated....

To be honest with you, when my special order was placed on June 20th 2007, it was allocated as a 2007 car, Lexus JP rejected the order and notified my sales manager it had to be changed to a 2008...
Mainly because my June 20th order, would be slated as a August Production Build...
Which meant August production builds were 2008's...

Either way by this Summer you should be able to place a 2009 Special Order, as long as the person at the dealership knows what they are doing..

If you need an experienced contact, I have a good friend that works @ Ray Catena Lexus (Oakhurst, NJ) that special ordered my 2001 IS300 back in April of 2000..

You can expect NO DEALS in a first run 2009.. Especailly a special order...

August production builds should be '09s.I was told by Lexus HQ that the '09s will be on dealer lots the first week of Sept.
My dealer said $1500(spoiler,all weather mats too) over invoice for a special order. They should hold to that or less considering this would be the 5th transaction we've made with that dealer in less than 3 years.
I'll be at the dealer this afternoon and will let you know.
If not,I'll be visiting your friend at Ray Catena.

Joe,

Ray Catena Lexus will not give you any kind of deal ($3K above invoice). You can get a good deal even on a Special Order; I paid $750 above invoice (W/taste of Lexus gift certificate). When you get your best price, let me know and call where I got mine (Prestige).
