Tinting the front windshield...
Damn old thread lol. Anyway tinted windshields is very common in Vegas and makes a big difference in the summer time. I think I have had the full windshield done on all my cars and can see just fine at night. It does look dark, from the outside, on cloudy days
ive always wanted to tint my fronts, but reading a few of these posts changed my mind (o_O) never really thought about how i'd lose visibility at night, only thought about how it would help during the day -__- definitely crossed off my list of To-Dos

I have tinted all my cars 35% on the windshield for the last 20 years and have never been hassled. It has never caused vision troubles at night either.

Oh wow I've never heard of sun glasses before, crazy! Do these sun glasses also protect the interior and keep the interior cooler when it's 115 all summer? Teach me more
oh and 80% tint is almost clear.

I did 50% windshield tint and it is quite awesome. 0 visibility issues, ever.
For the younger drivers, a car window with 37% transmittance did not significantly reduce contrast sensitivity, but a darker tint of 18% transmittance reduced contrast sensitivity at higher spatial frequencies. For the older drivers, a tint of 37% transmittance significantly reduced mid-to- high spatial frequency contrast sensitivity. The typical state standard (no tint with less than 35% transmittance) would thus seem to be appropriate for younger drivers; however, further examination of the standard may be necessary in regard to older drivers.
Exactly why is that? Have you ever driven a car with it's windshield tinted? Mine is tinted 50% and it looks great. People love it from the outside and then can't believe it's even tinted when they sit in the car. It doesn't affect your ability to see out of the windshield the way you may think it does. It simply cuts a ton of light coming into the car (the windshield is the largest piece of glass on the car....) and makes your side and rear windows look that much darker. No sacrifice at all when it comes to your ability to see out of your windshield when driving, seriously.
