Don't you realize that everyone older than 25 has also been younger than 25 at some time or another, and also probably had accidents that cost more than $10K?

I'm 37 now, and the accidents I've had in the last 12 years probably cost about $1K. However, I figure the 5-6 accidents I had between 16 and 25 years old probably cost over $50K.

That seems like a lot of damage I would push to have it totaled becuase it will never be the same...

yea, i wasn't hurt from the accident at all...at least not physically. when i walked around to the front of the car, my heart hurt quite a bit. but i'm really glad glad the 2IS is a safe car. thanks for the congrats

i hope it is totaled. still waiting to hear back from insurance. i'm not sure if it still runs. i tried to start it up after the accident, but it wouldn't. it might be a safety precaution though after the airbags deploy.

*Jimbo pulls out large knife*

"I'mma get me some leg meat, hurry up and shoot her sorry, lame ***!"

nice posts people

I think the car is going to be a total loss due to the front damage and the air bags. The airbags along add up quickly. Either way I hope you are doing okay and things work out for you

Thanks for validating my point. People younger than 25 are disproportianately involved in expensive accidents. That's why insurance is high for younger, more inexperienced, drivers. The facts bear this out.

There have been many serious accidents reported here with young drivers; this one when the driver fell asleep, and another one comes to mind where the IS flipped and rolled while the driver was going through a puddle of water late at night (no exess speed involved, ).

Just to give you a point of reference.. This is also a '06 IS 350:
http://picasaweb.google.com/martin.w...52546432609906

This is what $18000 worth of damage looks like. Oh, and I need to mention that the body shop has been fixing my car for over 11 weeks now.

update...insurance has declared the car totaled. i am now in the process of looking for another car. after a short 4 months, i may be leaving the 2IS family. i found this 2007 328xi coupe, and i was wondering if it was a good deal or not.

2007 328xi coupe

$28500
28k mi
premium package
cold weather package
navigation w/iDrive
jet black exterior
black dakota leather
brushed aluminum trim
auto tranny

the car was involved in a fender bender to the front corner of the car. no frame or wheel damage. the headlight and front quarter panel were replaced. the carfax on the car is clear. there is also a pretty big scratch underneath the back bumper from where the car was backed over a utility box, this has not been fixed. is this a good deal?
