Default My IS is acting funny

I have 3200 miles on my 08 IS250 AWD. So far i am hearing noise from the center console (static or cracking) every so often. and today when i started the car it started shaking. i had the radio on while the car was not started. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. It almost sounded like the car was not going to start. anyone else having these problems? I am considering trading this in for a GS, but i would lose so much money if i did that. what to do

Have the dealer check it out first before you consider a trade. Although the GS is very nice.

those are a few of the problems with many of the ISx50's out on the market. schedule an appointment and the dealer will have them fixed for you. no charge

Yes, this was an issue with another members AWD. I think it was a fuel related issue.

+1.... and change your fuel to 91+.... the increase in performance, mileage, and engine life will MORE than make up the difference...

I would put in the 91 octane first before scheduling an appointment. Service will be a waste of time. They're going to tell you that's nothing is wrong and most likely ask you what kind of gas you're using. If you tell them you're using 89 octane, they'll pull out the driver's manual and point out to you that the car requires PREMIUM (91) unleaded.

Save yourself the trip and the hassle and go 91. It's better for your car in the long run anyway. You're buying a luxury car. If you want to put in cheaper gas, trading up for a GS won't do the trick. If fuel is an issue, you might want to get a Honda or an American car.

there are 3 grades...87, 89 and 91. the dealer said for me to put in 89. i have been putting in 89 for 6 months now, and just as of late my car has made the start-up noise. and that static noise from the center speaker.

The dealer is wrong and just said to use 89 as a selling point.
Go for a few extra bucks and try a couple of tanks of premium before going to the dealer for the start up noise.
As far as the center static or crackling...
My car is going in Weds for a TSB windshield tick (NV005-06)noise I get a few times every time I drive.
I don't know if that's what you're experiencing.

the slight rocking when at idle i believe is because of your injectors. when idled for a bit, itll keep your engine at a bare minimum (if you get what i mean), so the car will have that rocking sensation to it. i think its less pronounced on the 350s, but its more apparent in 250s
