Default Windshield AC vent issue

A piece of small, thin plastic (1/4" by 1/3") fell through the AC vent underneath the inside windshield. Tried to retrieve it with no luck. Is it ok? or will it cause any kind of mechanical damage?

i don't think so, it's probably alright.

there was a bee once inside the car and i chased it to let it out but it flew inside and i never saw it coming out, and everything is OK.

You asked the exact same question a couple of days ago: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=352170

In order to remove it, you will probably have to remove the whole dash. Kicken8 recommend on your original post that you use a powerful vacuum like possibly a shop vac. I have had great luck with similar situations and using the power of suction/vacuum assist. One time, I had helped a buddy remove a wedge bulb dropped in the housing of his headlight assembly. The shop vac worked like a charm rather than remove the whole headlight. Just make sure you have a good seal to create a better vacuum. You may even turn on the defrost vents full blast.

Space between the windshield and the vent is too narrow and I don't think any vacuum suction head will fit in there. I'll give it a try though.

Bichon -I posted it couple of days ago, but was moved to a wrong forum. This is not a detailing issue.

You just have to get creative and possibly use the thinner adapter designed to vacuum in between the seats. I just went outside to see the clearance of the windshield to the dash. Too bad you did not live near me; I would help you get that plastic item out from your vent.

I agree with Brian that this should work. If not then its down in there an probably would never hurt anything.
