Default hate your rims after you bought it?

i bought some chrome 19s and now i want it black. i 'm deciding to either paint them or just sell them. has any one paint chrome rims before. thanks for any responds.

Pretty sure you cant paint chrome rims w/o at least sand/bad blasting the finish off first. Black rims do kick a$$!

yes I agree, i love black rims. I wish I'd gotten 19's instead of 18's, but again, i didn't want it to rub with my 2 inch drop

You can paint the chrome ones black, but it will probably be cheaper to sell the chromies and start over again.

haha I do I always saw some goodlooking rims but once they are on...mmmm I guess just have to be fussy... change the rims once in a while dude! What color is your IS?

tobekev post some pics of your chrome setup! if d2 gives the okay it must be legit to just paint over the chrome...

Powdercoating may be a good option.

I know of places that will powdercoat all 4 wheels for about $200 here in SoCal. I just need to drop it off in the afternoon, and pick it up the next day...

My wheels started life silver with a polished lip. Then I had them powder coated black. Looks good and is a lot cheaper than buying new ones!
