How much are your 2IS registration fee?
Got my renewal notice in the mail, total is $308.. thought it's expensive compared to my friend's car.
Well, I have a special plate so that makes it $30 more expensive.
Here is the breakdown:
Registration fee: 41
License fee 215
Weight fee 0
Special plate fee 30
County/district fees 10
owner responsibility fee 0
smog abatement fee 12
toal $308
Do you have any idea why it's so much? My frens who own civics are paying $160. Is it because of the big displacement of the engine?
My car is 07 IS350 anyway

Ours is $253 this year for our ‘06. The license fee is $190 and except for no special plate fee all the other numbers are the same.
In general I believe the license fees are based on the value of the car, so it will go down a bit each year. Of course that does not include potential extras that those socialists in Sacramento may come up with in the future.

Here in Nevada, your registration is calculated by the vehicle MSRP, so it can get expensive.
I just got an IS250 over the weekend and I looked on Nevada's DMV website to see what the damge is: $700 est.
I also have an 05 Armada and it was expensive to register it. Each year as the value goes down, so does the registration. This year I think I paid $580 for my Armada. My wife and I mad sure that we wait a few months to get the new car, so that the Armada and Lexus is not back to back registration....
