Sport Package availability?
Although it would be a painful process I'm thinking of trading my 2006 IS 350 for a 2008 or 2009.
Anyone know which areas have the Sport Package available?
I know that the Southern region commonly does not - its special order since we get Premium packages mostly.

If it's not a time sensitive purchase why not just special order -exactly- the car you want? Then you don't have to worry about not only getting the car from a different area, but also getting lucky enough to find exactly the options and colors you want.
The only option I'm looking for is the Sport Package - don't need any of the rest or I can self-install it for much less.
Plus the special order process is a pain, the dealer I purchased my 2006 from is one of the few that does it right (JM Lexus) but the whole order/waiting/etc thing I can do without.

^^ Not necessary at all....
You will not find a Sport Package on ANY dealer lot, unless that dealer allocated that build package in their monthly allocation.
Best thing to do is Special Order & you get exactly what you want...
Hopefully, the Sport Package is still available for 2009's.

P.S. - MY 08 Special Order took 2 months & 3 weeks from order date, to keys in my hand.

being in socal made it relatively easy to find my 2is w/ sports package. of course, it also came w/ ML and nav, so i just took it as-is rather than waiting for a special order. but this was back in 2006...

Now look it is not exactly true that you have to order your sports package. If you order one dont expect to get a deal because you'll pay sticker price. If you look hard enough you will find what your looking for. I suggest you look on auto trader or cars.com under new cars with everything you want and you will be surprised. Thats how i found my 08 IS 350 with nav, sports pkg, in SGM with black interior. I love it.

I assure you I paid less than sticker. A LOT less.
It's not 2006 anymore, you can get pretty good deals on an IS, even a special order, if you find a decent dealership.
Thats hot right there because the dealership here in TN was being firm on their special orders. Hell they was even trying to talk me out of ordering my 350, they also was being funny about dealer trades! So i took my *** to OH and picked up my brand new 350 right off the show room floor the way i wanted it with 3 miles. They cut me a great deal and paid for my plane tickets and gas for the drive back. Great service, but will never Buy a car from Lexus of Nashville.
Check again by Build Your Own on the Lexus website--they just revamped the site, and, at least in the NE, appear to have changed some of the packages that were available.
