3rd Generation?....When?
The reason I ask is we are about to either lease or purchase an IS250 or 350 (if we buy) this June. When is this generation expecting an update or model change? Will the possibility of a Coupe extend that Body Style for more years? The IS300 reigned for 5 years before they changed the body. Is that the expected time frame for this one?
If they are expected to update in 2011 or so, then we might as well Lease for 3-4 years and then buy. What are your thoughts?

Never

But same thing as what iialcii said. Should 5 years and a new 3IS?

I think the current body looks great, and the inside is nicely luxurious. You may not like the redesign. I got an e-mail today for the redesigned Acura TSX, and I don't know if I like it any better than the old one. I did not care for the redesigned BMW 3. Or the new Camry. Alot of people hate the next-gen Accord. Again, my IS is beautiful.
I guess I usually like the Redesigns - I love the new 3-series and M3. If another model year is expected around 2011 then leasing is definately the way to go. Thanks guys.

We all have plenty of time to enjoy our rides, re-design costs Toyota a lot of money and "IS" sales have proven to be successful in all markets and models. I would sit back and enjoy your toy, no worries. As I said in another thread, I bet the engineers clear out the tails on the 250 and 350 and offer a different rim package like in the gen ones.
I agree with those who believe the next gen IS will come in 2011 or 2012. I have a feeling that the 2nd gen IS will have a 6 year run. The SC had a 6 year run. Also, like the SC, I don't forsee any significant mid-model changes.
