Long Awaited Pothole Damage Pics
CL Members,
By popular request (LOL), I was asked if I could post some pics of the pothole damage where I not only blew a two wek old tire, but a MOMO as well. To paint a (dramatic) picture, I will start the story by saying, it was a cold sunny afternoon as I was making my way diligantly to downtown Chicago while still in the suburbs. As I proceeded northbound on Archer Ave in light traffic, I came upon a mine field similar to those on the DMZ between north and south Korea. It was as if Satan himself took the earth from underneath me. With the speed limit 55mph and the rapid decline in gradiant within the road, it made it impossible to view this series of pothoels. As I hit the hole, nearby animals in the quiet effort to gather food for their young had stopped dead in their tracks and you could feel the wind move from their heads as they focused on the impact. How does that do (LOL)?

The bulge in the tire is a little evident, but if you look at it from the side, it looks like the steel belt just snapped. Does anyone like my caliper color. It is a custom paint called "Winter Deteriation!" it comes in that color and rust brown.
Last I looked yesterday, the same animals where in there permanant state of amazement brought on from the impact on 3-4-08. Sounds like a X-File to me!!!

I hear you, if this keeps up, I will have to dump the IS and get a stick pony. I can't afford to keep replacing wheels and tires. I have filed a claim with IDOT and made a police report. I am one of many people I know with the same problems in Illinois, so I am not alone.
