17" stock thicker sidewall?
I have an 07 is250awd with 17". I will be getting new tires soon and was wondering if anyone has pics of any other brands other than stock. I am thinking a bit thicker sidewall for better ride comfort and also more width? I'm not a big fan of the spacing right now with the stock either - will a thicker sidewall help?
Anyone have pics of an is with thicker sidewall? recommendations?

Good post. I'm not up for new tires yet, only 500 miles on them. Better tires like Michelin PS2 should help with road noise and performance (not sure whether dry/wet/snow will be helped most). Not sure about improved ride smoothness with the PS2s either.

thicker sidewall usually means thicker rubber in a cross-section view...however, I think you mean a higher aspect ratio for 'taller' tires. Anytime you increase aspect ratio, you increase rolling diameter, which can throw off your cars sensors and metrics. You already have a fairly high aspect ratio on the stock 17s, so, as already suggested, you should upgrade to better tires of the same size for better performance and comfort.
If you don't like the space, then you should think about a drop, though this would look odd with 17s IMO.
