Why not? It's just a warning light, right? Pleny of cars pass inspection without TPM system at all.

Call the inspection station and ask. It would seem crazy that you have the right pressure, but they could fail you.

I think what he means is because it creates a warning light, and in some states they won't pass you with a check engine light. I honestly don't know as I haven't had a car smog checked in years, but you can always ask the guy at the smog station before they hook your car up.

In Illinois, you would not pass, you can't have any warning lights on the analog guage cluster. It may be the same for other states. It is a safety issue. I know it sounds dumb, but it could be a matter of legality if they passed you on this. If the ABS, Trac or Airbag light is on, you won't pass. My buddy rebuilds salvage cars and has been in and out of state inspection for years, they are strict.

Take out the cluster and unscrew the ABS blub. I did this for a friend once. No more warning light, well no more light at all.

Hah, that might work (LOL). I don't think they run a system scan of the OBDII, only emission scan. The TPMS, ABS, VSC, ect probably would not be focussed on. I know they really check the SRS system.
