Long story short...Took my car to college, parked, and when I get back I see that someone hit it I'm usually the type of guy that will park my car farthest as possible from any other car and will park most likely to an edge so that only 1 car is parked next to me. But sadly someone hit my car and left. Here are the damages seen in the pictures below (I know they are bad...camera phone)

There isn't a dent or real body damage other than messed up paint/major scratches. I know it may be hard to tell from the pictures but you might be able to see the damage (will post better pix tomorrow or so).

If anyone has advice on how to fix this up or for anyone in the NJ area that knows a good place (looking for a place that's good but honestly hopefully won't charge A LOT of money) please tell me. Thanks

 

Did you report it to campus security/police?

 

Yes but no help there. Pretty much I'm on my own.

And if someone thinks there may be cameras...there weren't any

Yeah I know man but you know that somethings aren't in your control. It can happen to anyone, anytime, any place...

Same thing happened to me last weekend except to my rear.

What is up with people not seeing our cars when they park? It's like our cars are so good looking, they can't even see them or something... OR, our cars are so good looking, people forget basic driving skills when in sight..

I dunno..could go either way if you think about it...

Anyways..hope you have uninsured motorist coverage, or else you're probably making a collision claim and your rates will likely go up.

 

well if you reported to campus police, they should write a report. Do a insurance claim as hit and run. Similar concept no increase to your premium. Im worried myself at school. I hug the walls and park all the way at the bottom of the lot

damn that sucks...did you get it repaired and if so, do you remember how much it cost you to repair it?

 

We'll, This will require a possible whole bumper repainting at about $500. It is possible you may be able to use one of those quick fix guys that airbrushes in the parking lots of dealers, but ty to find one that you don't have to go throught the dealer and basically pay $200 extra to have it done on their lot. Does not look too bad!!! I am so sick of people taking off when they hit cars.

 

This may be a long shot... but if the paint didnt flack or gouge, try using meguires heavy cut cleaner on it. You can find it at Napa autoparts....or whatever small autostore is near you.
