wasn't there a thread with a bunch of pics of IS from japan yesterday? am i going crazy?

 

I looked for it because I posted in it last night

there were a lot of good ideas for people in there

It got deleted, Minkara website is copyrighted, we can't just put hundreds of pictures in one thread, the thread rocked, but what to do, rules are rules. it is okay to post pictures of a specific product though.

Everyone, this isn't some big secret. Anyone with an internet browser can head on over to http://minkara.carview.co.jp and browse Japanese car pages to their heart's content. What we cannot do is distribute their content without permission, which amounts to massive copyright violation. We also have to consider the strain that directly linking pictures off of their website places on their servers. I can tell you with all certainty that if we spotted some other website linking hundreds of pictures directly off our our servers, we'd be placing some phone calls and making some rather stern requets. One or two pictures relevant to a specific idea or product is not a big deal, but the hundreds of pictures directly linked from their website was creating a potential liability for us. It's all part of being the largest Lexus Enthusiast Community in the world.

i googled for minkara but didnt find anything.

i guess it was easier to select the thread as a whole and delete it than it was to take a few mintues to go to the posts with pics in them and delete those.

an explanation in the original thread would of been nice. there wouldnt of been a need for this one.

 

What good would the thread have been without the pictures? The title of the thread was 'Pics from Japanese blogs" for pete's sake. To sort through that thread and delete the posts with pics would not only have been pointless, but also would have taken forever, since 90% of the posts would have been deleted.

And FYI, the author of that thread was informed before we removed it of the reasons why, hence his post above.
