I think they tell you not to touch them at all just to be safe...you can touch the bulbs, but you really need to clean them off before you turn them on.

I use latex gloves when I install it and hold the plastic part of the bulb....

the whole point is that to avoid any oil from the fingers transferred to the glass part.....cos it will not only blew the bulb, it might cause the bulb to explode.......

I only use the Ultras and i never touch the bulb. I always use cotton gloves and handle them by the base. By my calculation the Ultras lasted just a tad longer than the regular silverstars.

To answer your question Lextasy89- until I had the 8000K HID's on my Jeep i thought the Ultras looked similar to HID;s...but seeing them side by side....they dont. The Ultras look very yellow next to the HID's. But it is the same if comparing Ultras to regular halogen.

^^^ How does it compare to the IS250's HID? Could you tell a huge difference?

silver tar run at 4000k, the Hid's in the IS are 4350K stock, so the lighting will be very close to one another if not look identical because of their closeness in color and were they are in the spectrum. someone posted pics and they were very close to one another. i will be purchasing them soon and will post pics when i do.
