Hello fellow Lexus owners,

I was wondering if anyone noticed some abrupt engine braking when the transmission is downshifting from 6th gear to 4th or even 3rd gear. This is isolated to the power mode. It seems a bit rough, almost like you are tapping on the brakes. Seems like it should be smoother. Just curious. Thanks.

 

That is normal. In power mode you will get higher RPM upshifts, sooner downshifts, and very aggressive engine braking.
