Default Rear view mirrors = too damn big?

The rearview mirrors look too damn big on the IS. I like the view from inside, but honestly, I dont use them much. Anyone else think they are too big for the overall size of the car? I would love to see a reduced size unit available aftermarket.

Not that big of a deal.

I would rather have them be a bit bigger for better views, instead of them being small and near non-functional...

i like the mirrors. alot of people get larger after market ones like broadway mirrors for increased vision. i would be complaining if they were too small u couldnt see any thing out of them.

For some time right after I got my new IS I too thought that the outside mirrors were a bit too large. Now I feel that the outside mirrors on my other three cars are a bit too small. I like them just the way they are!

Even more reason to have them big, so that the rest of us who do use them can more easily spot the careless drivers.

When I left the states to work in Kuwait, I missed my big mirrors on my IS350. With traffic here, you need bigger mirrors as I have been in more near accidents here this year than my 10 years of driving. It rained the other day and I said I would rather be set on fire than drive in this traiffic in the rain again.

dumbo I think the mirrors are slightly too big. If you follow another IS you can basically see the drivers head on the side mirros. doesnt bother me too much. maybe there will be aftermarket mirrors.

I think the big mirrors look good and are exceptional in areas with heavy traffic..you never have to second guess when merging (ok maybe sometimes when people are sitting in your blind spot), and their placement don't make that much noise at highway speeds. I drove my friends 350z, and the first thing I noticed was how tiny and non functional his rear/side view mirrors are....tbh that car gets me claustrophobic as hell, you can hardly see out the rear windshield.

When you own and drive an IS350, you are always wayyyy in front of traffic.

Why look back?

Merry Christmas fellow IS junkies!

I'll be the one to agree with you. Too big, like old man glasses. I'll never try but the base of C-6 mirrors looks like it could be made to fit.
