Default Volt 6000K HID installed...

Got the Volt installed by Promax...it was $65 to install but had fitment issues that the bulb does not fit...so they ask $10 more to modify the ring (steve was helpful on this one and told promax what they can do)...the installation is kinna pricey..i know...but oh well...anyway...the output is good...the color is straight white...when you see it in person, you can hardly notice any BLUE tinge on it...i expected the color has a blue tinge to it...so far so good...but would trade the bulb for an 8000K...anywell here is some pics of it...(camera makes the color look blueish when its actually not)

Bought and installed my HIDs at Promax, one of the ballast failed 11 months after (probably because of water damage, my fender lining is cut) and they changed it no questions asked

so i just came back...the light output is great...so much better than halogen OF COURSE....and its really bright...yeah i install the Volt in less than an hour...they seem to know what they are doing...they drill the hole in the dust cover too just like the DIY thread....I think promax shave the ring of the bulb to make it go in...promax told me that usually the HID company will void the warranty of the bulb if its modified...but steve gave him the green light...

I would do it for free too, but sometimes getting it done professionally gives a sense of ease and security that it will be done correctly.

Hate to revive such an old thread but im now having the exact same issue with a set of Volt HID's i just bought not fitting into my headlamp. Just spent a good part of my night trying to get these things installed but no luck.

I searched CL regarding this issue and came up with this thread... its pretty sad that xenondepot is still having the same problems even after 2 years.

Had i known of the possibility of this I would have spend a bit more and gotten the xtreme kit.

I guess il go to a shop and see if they will modify the ring for me and install the kit hopefully for a reasonable price.

how come i keep hearing about aftermarker HID kit fitment problem? i installed mines with no problem? I only noticed that when the o-ring on the bulb is on backward, there will be a "loose" feel to the light bulb and the socket.

you got rip off on labor, i would have done it for like $20, clean install too.

Don't change it to 8000k dude, you will regret it. Anything 8000k or above is for purely color purposes.
