Lexus already coats the windshield. You'll see, after the cosmoline wears off it's very good. The product they apply for rain is called Aquapel. It was created by the same company making the windshield for Lexus and allot of other car companies. It is not silicone based like rain-x. It is a fluorinated compound (had to look it up) and last much longer.

You can have it installed at most glass shop once it wears off or buy it off Ebay and do it yourself. Very easy to do.

Agreed, aquapel is a much better product....mine is just starting to wear off @ 6 months.
