New Member "hi"
Hello, after much lurking, I picked up my 2nd GEN IS. I sure have learned alot here, and hope to learn more.
Today I finally got a 2006 IS350, Black / camel tan interior, luxury package. It has 14,000 miles.
I cannot even begin to describe how awesome this car is. Wow, I made the right decision.
Anyway, "hi"!

the modding began 20 min after buying it!!! Did some of my usual little stuff, and bought (kind of lame) Ipod adapter deal that interfaces with the 1/8 AUX plug and the 12V port next to it, from circuit city. The Ipod sounds great on the IS system, but I don't have any real functional control over it. My last car had an Alpine head unit specifically for the Ipod control, that was nice.
Thanks for all the welcomes, like I said before, wow, what a ride.

Thanks Philip/everbody,
I never researched a purchase so hard in my life. It was a major ordeal.
From what I can tell, there must be some kind of corporate 1 year lease out there, because there are alot of IS250's / 350's for sale here. All have 12000/16000 miles, every darn one.
I drove the IS250, very nice, but low on power. I drove a 350, and fell in love. I then blew off the purchase for a month, and waited to see if my mind would change. All that did was make me think about the car every day for a month.
So, I researched more and more. I visited so many dealerships it wasn't funny. Some had alot of rock chips, some had wheel dings, some had NAV which costs too much (for me), some were obvious re-paints (damage), etc.
I used every search engine available to find these cars.
Then I found the one I bought, an ultra clean 350. It has had a nose repaint, which was done very well, which was fully admitted to me by the dealer, for rock chips.
As far as options go, it is somewhat basic, but per the 2008 option list, it would have the luxury package that involves heated/air-cond seats, floor mats, perforated seats, trunk mat, etc. No NAV, no switches installed on the left side 3 switch panel.
It has enough options for me.
I paid 33000 for it. I think that was a good deal.
I hope to learn more here. I want to get black wheels next.
