its an 07. All 07's come with standard HID if im not wrong. So you dont need to change or buy any HID conversion kits. if you want to change the bulb then it wont cost you that much for a pair of good bulbs.

Hmmm...well I believe the 08's do come standard with HID's. I don't think 07's do. At least for the AWD model if that makes any difference. If u go on Lexus.us, and build your own for a IS250 AWD... automatically an HID package is chosen. But...when I spoke with the tech, after he asked me if it was an 08, and I told him no, then he told me about what he could do to install the HID's(meaning the 07's don't come standard with HID's, and from what he was saying the 08's do).

And yes, it is an 07'

And in a week and a bit I will know for sure. But oh man, I hope it comes with HID's, tho I am not getting my hopes up :s.

Question

Ok, I have a Base 2007 RWD Starfire Pearl without the HIDS. Which is better Xtreme or Mtec?... and which color temp just have a little blue 5000K, 6000K?

Do you have to drill the oem headlight assembly in any way?

Thanks!

Luis

I actually by the way found this link...

http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=1995

...the OEM HID's.

A little pricey though at $1400... + Professional Installation. Which means that tech was about right. Because he was saying there is a lot of wiring to do. So...wow. I haven't seen the OEM HID's yet, but I think I may be warming up to the $300 8000k option I am seeing everywhere. I am still not so comfortable about the reliability of the 300 dollar conversion kits. The OEM part is made to last, and as many of you may be able to relate, you pay for what you get, which is why you bought a Lexus after all isn't it...

I dont think HID are Standard, its an option on its own that you can order from the factory for any 2is. unless it changed in 08, I have a 07, it states clearly on the window sticker HID AFS .....as a additional option

Do you know how much "professional installation" would be then? I am curious to know how much it could cost.

I think what you're referring to a $300 HID is actually the cost of the bulbs. Full HID requires ballast, bulbs and wiring = $1500-2000. It's not cheap, but the end result is worth it.

Looks like you bought the IS from a used car sales? How much did your dad pay for it?
