Poor rear defogger/defroster
Last week it snowed a bit (about 1/2 inch) and prior to leaving work I warmed the car up about 10 minutes with the rear defogger on. The snow on the rear windshield was not even slightly melted when I returned. Even after another 15 minutes driving home (defogger on) still nothing noticeable. A few days later it took nearly 10 minutes to defog the rear windshield (not snow, just condensation) - the side mirrors, on the other hand, defogged in just a few seconds. In 30+ years of driving I've never seen a rear defogger do such a poor job.
Is this the norm the IS? I have a service appointment tomorrow to deal with this, but am I just wasting my time? I did a search and only found one topic dealing with this issue, but there were too few replies to get a definitive answer.
Has anyone else had this problem, and has the dealer dealt with it satisfactorily? Thanks for the help.

hey...I'm also in the NY/NJ area and I get heavy condensation in the morning...but my rear defroster is very powerful and it melts prob within 30 seconds - 1 min....It does a great job and it does a great job in any condition, whether it's raining, snowing, or just some condensation....maybe you might want to take it to the dealer
