My car has been in the shop for 3 weeks for this TSIB now.
Wow, that's a long time. Either they have a lot of people complain about this down here or my local dealer has an abundance of parts on hand, since my repair took only 3 days.

Where did you get your work done at? JM? I need to take my car in to JM next week for a few TSIBs.
i finally got this work done, they kept my car overnight. just got it back today so it will have to sit overnight before i can tell if the noise is really gone or not.
car engine appears to be fine, nothing much has changed (except the weather yuk). anyway, the noise was embarrassing, mine was particularly loud at my work's indoor parking garage. i hope it's fixed.
If doesnt hurt your engine. I would wait till my car hits 65k miles and get that TSIB done. I seen it and they basically have to tare down the top of your engine. ...
This is a powertrain warranty repair for the '06 and some '07 IS350, so do it before yours runs out if you're going to do it. From the pdf:
This repair is covered under the Lexus Powertrain Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 72 months or 70,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

Yes, I had my car repaired at JM Lexus. I drove around in their loaner GS350 while the work was being done.
Like the others said, I was planning on waiting to get this TSIB done, but it's actually quite embarrassing when you start up your car in a big crowd of people and it makes the grinding noise.
