I took delivery of a Glacier/Black(int.) IS350 and I absolutely LOVE the power. I only have 215 miles on it, so I can't imagine when the car breaks in. Not going to go thru the list of pros since we all know wat they are, but I do have a few questionable things which I think is very un-Lexus like. I would like to know why these things are what they are. Again, don't get me wrong, i adore my IS.
1) Center console w/o Nav isn't exactly 21st century. Yes, i know I should have opted for the nav, but that's besides the point. It's not bad, but it doesn't really match the classiness w/ the rest of the car. Feels like the desingers didn't put too much effort into it. Even all the Infinitis have a screen.
2) Windshield doesn't have the blue tinted stripe on top. Why? Even my 23k Acura RSX had it
I don't get it.
3) 12V adapter inside arm rest compartment. W T F! Um, plug in an adapter and you can't even fold down the arm rest one bit. Unless I'm missing something, that must be the worst placed 12V plug in the history of any car i've owned. This thing is probably my biggest complaint. I just don't get it!!! Are there super small 12v adapters I don't know about?
It makes the arm rest virtually worthless when having the top flipped open. I know about the cig lighter where the ash tray is, but ya.
4) Hmmm, maybe it's just me, but I thought Lexus engines were suppose to be dead silent, inside and out of the car. From the outside it sounds like my RSX & Civic lol.
5) Coin holder is kinda gimpy. If not filled, the coins make a clanking noise like a crazy. Is a real coin holder too much to ask for lol.

hummm, imo it looks fine w/o nav. i remember someone posted a study of how % wise u lose more with getting nav if ur talking re-sell value. but thats just me, n if ur going to use the 12v adaptor for a ipod or what not, theres a cable made by monster that is "low profile" n closes fine, and connects to the dock to get aux out also. i think i posed a link before, u should be able to find it with seach. but the part im confused about, is how u make a silent dead engine from outside? oh well, im glad it isnt too soft, if u got a 350, im sure ur going to want the noise to remind u that ur speeding...as if it wasnt too soft already.
Go get the IGO charger at raidoshack works great for me fits just fine :P really small and plus u can buy many adapters for many diffrent devices

The Monster Mobile® Ultra-Low Profile Car Charger looks like it'll fit fine. The only thing I wish it had was switch-able tips like the iGo.
Is it me or the iGo adapter looks like the size of the traditional chargers? This fits into the 12V adapter inside the arm rest area?

2) Exactly because it isn't a $23k RSX.
3) Plenty of options; I have a dual one that folds @ 90 degrees, fits perfectly.
4) Search 'high pressure fuel injectors' in the 2IS forum.
5) Yup.
If those are your main complaints, you know you have a great car. As for the engine, Lexus gets the reputation of whisper quiet engines from cranking out ES sedans--the equivalent of a Japanese Buick. At least its not the constant drone of the G35/37 coupe.

AHHHHHH! There are no sun visor extenders?!?!? lol!
Man, the FX spoiled me good! Too bad the darn thing drank so much gas, though the IS isn't that much better, but still!
Thanks for advising me to buy the iGo adapter, it fits perfectly. Not an extra centimeter to spare! But that also created another small problem, there is no wire pass-thru if I were to connect my TomTom. Guess I'll just leave a small gap open in the console. The whole tip changing thing is a nice touch, now I can power my iPhone w/o another adapter (which I have).

I think your better off in a FORD Escort then a Lexus!!
1) the lower end lexus crs have had center console units like such for a long time
2)blue tint strip was placed on older cars... usualyl luxury cars don't... some people don't like it...for other reasons like its look ugly...
3) get a new charger some will fit
4) direct injection... new technology....
5)convert your cig tray into a coin holder

Am I the only one who keeps his coins in his pants?
I'd use the power plug next to the ashtray for a dash-mounted GPS instead of the one in the console- this way you don't have a cord laying across where the shifter is (plus you can use the in-console one for an ipod or something that uses the AUX jack)
