went to go...
So today i went to go take off my front license plate and after removing it i found huge screw holes as well as two smaller dents on the inside. There is no way someone can leave that visible, so i just put it back on? Did you guys experience the same thing? If so, what did you do to fix it?
Thanks.
Thanks.
forgot to mention......some people here end up drilling the hole a LIL BIT bigger to make the bumper plugs fit perfectly. FYI. Other than that, get the bumper bondo and painted again. =T
not much of a choice available.....but it's a black car...imagine u have a silver/ whtie....that's more noticeable.

I'd keep the license plate on if you already have holes. Bumper plugs look awkward, IMO. Perhaps just buy one of those small frames and rock Lexus. I've seen a couple people do it and it looks much better than the full sized plates. Or if you want a clean look, fill the holes and repaint the bumper.

i had to paint n match. i'd prob have gone nuts if i had to live with bumper plugs. im like the guys up there that had 4 huge holes, n i think every day. wth is lexus thinking drilling such large holes. but i didnt pay much, my car bascally got key'd all around from my bumper, across bother driver doors, n my trunk. so i just paid a deductible n asked the body shop to fill in the holes for me while they were repainting the bumper.
My car already had the plate mount attached when I got the car. Yeah, I pulled it off to see what was underneath and found the two main holes and the two raggedy ones that were caused by the screws that hold the plate partially boring into the bumper. It's a pi** poor design by Lexus. Why couldn't they put threaded inserts similar to the back plate on the front bumper, and supply two threaded color coded plugs that could be screwed in if the plate wasn't required?
Anyway, in this case I don't particularly like the look of bumper plugs. They are too inelegant. If I just couldn't live with the front plate I'd have the holes filled and the bumper painted. But it isn't that big a deal to me. I have a personalized plate anyway so why should I throw it away by not mounting it? I got a Real Carbon Fiber frame, www.realcarbonfiber.com, which is super high quality and which also has a clear shield over the plate that gives a completely finished appearance to the whole plate issue with no screws or bolts showing. Most owners just slap the plate on without giving thought to a proper frame. It takes a bit of thought, but having a front, and back, plate properly installed is worth the effort.

I did this and also de-badged my car a little over year ago. It cost me $400 ($100 for one section of the trunk and $300 for the front bumper). I'm not really sure on the actual price because I got hooked up. You can tell the bumper has been repainted because of tiny dust particles underneath certain areas of the bumper-it's almost impossible not to get these on a repaint because no room is 100% dust free. It's really hard to tell if you don't look closely or feel the bumper.
My Front bumper is a virgin. I would go with bumper plugs. front plates are ugly, but its illegal here in CA not to display a front plate, but its a quick fix it, prob just zip tie it to grill if i get a fix it. also illegal to modify a car, so just tell the cop it came from the dealer without front monts, haha dont think it work but worth a shot
