Hi guys.... I am near the end of installing the JoeZ intake. I am stuck on one thing. Those darn small plastic clips!! When I insert them in the holes and then push down on the middle party, they don't open wide enough to hold the plastic pieces securely.

Can anyone offer a suggestion? Thanks!

 

i had this problem when i was just trying to see if the car was any louder with it off, but what i did was just take it all off, make sure the clip is all the way out (i pushed it to the ground to make sure it was completely closed) then i made sure all the dumb covers were aligned and tired it again. it worked the 2nd time, hopefully that'd work =/

 

Not sure if they are the same on the 06....but I found that you really have to push up all the way on the removed clip to make in engage all the way when you reinstall..I figured it out after breaking a couple...Also the manual describes he procedure...Which of course I found after breaking the clips...

The 07 and later clips are different than those in the 06. I didn't see the instructions in my 2008 manual--->thank you very much. Good thing my husband was helping me with this mod. If there is a problem, he tends to figure out a solution, one way or another. He is very innovative. Anyway, to make the clips expand more fully, he used a very tiny piece of electrical tape, rolled it up and lined the inside of the circular part of the clip. He also applied electrical tape around the bulb like end of the part of the clip that gets pushed in to expand the clip. My clips are nice and secure now.
