Stainless steel brake lines-Waste of money?

Anybody have SS brake lines?
Overkill for street?

My '06 will be getting a brake fluid change in a month or so.I was thinking about this upgrade.

The most important thing to consider is the construction of the lines themselves. The inside diameter of the lines has a big affect on the feedback/feel you will get. You would want to stay as close as possible to the stock diameter. What is real important is the outer cover (or lack of). What has become an issue is dirt getting between the stainless/Kevlar cover and the inner tube. It will eventually cause the line to fail. If the line does not have a plastic protective cover, to keep road dirt out, it would be a good idea to put some kind of cover over it.

I had SS brake lines on my 03 BMW 530i Sport. The cost for all four lines was (roughly) $90. I was going to have the brake fluid changed so I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to have my local shop install them. I did notice a slight difference in pedal feel. Otherwise it was more of a cosmetic change. Would I do it again considering my car is only used for going from point A to B. No. For track use, I would install them.

I just don't know if changing from rubber is worth an extra $115 + shipping.
