Default Will I be sorry.......

For those who are running 19's, do you think it's a bad move to go down to an 18" setup? I have a set of 18's that are my all time favorite wheel, and it will take my car into a "retro" look, but the biggest they ever made was an 18".

Do you think "downsizing" will be the wrong move. Outside of "it's your car...and your decision" ... do you think it's a bad move ???

Thoughts please......and yes, I do have a wheel problem....

I can never figure out why bigger wheels automatically make the car 'better'. We seem to live in an environment where 'bigger' is now equated with quality. Bigger watches, bigger cars, bigger houses, etc. We should focus on real quality and how the item looks, not on it's physical attributes. So if you like the 18" looks that is what you should go with.

I agree. Bigger does not necessarily mean better. Biggers wheels might look better but you will suffer w/ ride quality.

Downsizing to 18" is not bad. The ride is more comfortable & quiet, tires are less expensive, and performance/handling is still competitive to 19"s.

I went with 18"s and have absolutely no regrets. I founnd the perfect balance of comfort, perfomance, price, and aesthetics.

As long as they dont have huge lips, 18s+huge lip = bad.

Why in the world would "downsizing" to the proper wheel size for this car be a bad thing? Visually, everyone's concern is the stance/wheel gap of the car, which has more to do with ride height and tire aspect ratio. Get your suspension and tires dialed in and 18's look fantastic on this car.

And as far as peformance goes, 18's are superior in every way to 19's, ceteris paribus.

Ceteris paribus = latin phrase meaning "all things being equal." And no, they haven't finished my car yet...

Straight line acceleration diminishes as wheel size increases, generally speaking (unsprung weight). So going to a larger wheel might draw more attention, but your car will be slower and might just ride like crap.

Don't think you have to worry much. Ur cars got a nice stance with the RM'S. I'm sure even the stock wheels look nice! Won't regret the ride, I know that!
