Default acceleration issue

i have an is250 that i really dont drive very hard. when i hit about 18000 miles ive been noticing that when taking off from a light, the engine slightly bogs down somewhat. is this normal? has anybody else experienced this?

Pretty sure its typical, it was like that on my last car. I think any car that has a low power to weight ratio is going to bog off the line if you go all in on the pedal. If the car has enough power to create wheelspin off the line though then you don't have that problem. But... then you have wheelspin and still have to know how far to push it. Then again, thats what traction control is for (us lazy people that just want to floor it and not think).

I've got 15000 on mine and it feels more responsive that when it was new...I don't really ever drive it hard either.

actually, if i go all in on the pedal, the car runs as it should. its really under light acceleration where i notice the hesitation. i think im going to try replacing the air filter. its about time to do it anyway. thanks for all the input.

Someone mentioned it above...you need to reset the ECU. Your car learned your driving style, so it's upshifting quickly to save you gas. I drive my 250 somewhat aggressively and my car learned that. So I don't even need to drive in power mode anymore.

Actually, I've never seen it definitively answered, so I'm not sure if you need to reset the ECU, or if you can just start driving more aggressively and your car will relearn your new style. Others have said that it only learns in the first 1000 miles, but I'm not sure.

Gotta floor it once in a while. High tech car has a memory and remembers your driving habit. Play w/ it. Use the power mode too.
