I'm not as worried about the Altima comparison as I am with the Pontiac G6 comparison. Very nice cars, but I prefer the previous version...the new ones are heavy and just a tick faster even with 50 extra hp.

Very nice G37 Magellan. Now go out and hack your Nav and disable your seat belt buzzer . . . (just joshin')

Quote: My thought, if you are considering a G37, why not wait a year for the new Z. The Z will be a blast.
Well, there’s a story we tell about the party where all the modern cars are invited. The Z comes in like a cheerleader saying, “Hey, everybody, look at me!”

Later, the G35 comes in quietly through a side door and in a few minutes everyone turns around and asks, “Who IS that?”

I knew someone would bring that up. Let me say this: As I gain more experience with the G37 nav, I will be prepared to start a thread showing that the voice recognition system is so advanced and easy to use, that I will challenge anyone to a race, i.e., have one of our nav hackers manually input a destination on the fly while I do the same with voice recognition only. I think I would win, and if so, well, you know the rest.

Yeah, they're just flying off the lot, so you took the time out to troll a Lexus forum and advertise.

Nice wheels man. When you say quieter, how quiet is it compared to the previous model...

Quote: Let me start out by saying that I've always been a fan of the G35 coupes. However, when I started seeing the new Nissan Altima coupes, I came to the conclusion that the styling is so similar between the two cars that it will lower the status of the G35's. I know some of you may disagree, but that new G37 looks even more like the new Altimas.

Me and my friends always talk about the perceived status of common luxury car makes: BMW>Lexus>Acura>Infiniti. And the looks of the new G37 are going to keep Infinity in the bottom of the pack. Nissan/Infinity needs to do a little more to differentiate the styling between these two models.

No offense to the G37 owner, it's still a sweet ride.
I don't agree. The similar family lines of the Camry, Solara and Avalon haven't devalued any of the Lexus models they assimilate.
Has a 5 series bimmer devalued a 7 series.....no.
Altima coupe looks cool but it ain't no G37.

I have had several people tell me the Camry looks like my IS350, but take it for an uneducated eye, and anyone in the know can see they are nothing alike. G37 is without a doubt a nice ride, and definatley not an Altima.

I was waiting for the G37 to come out when I bought my IS350. It was still a year and a half off when I bought my IS. I finally got to driving the G37 the other day. The car is pretty nice; MUCH more aggressive than the IS350. There's a lot of engine noise, exhaust noise. The ride and the vibration and harshness is not as refined as the IS, but then again it is a sports coupe, not a luxury sedan. I found the interior fit and finish to be quite good, pretty impressive compared to the last gen car. There are cheap parts here and there, like some switches, but overall I was quite impressed with the finish inside. The rear is SMALL; I'm a pretty small guy yet my head was firmly pressed against the rear glass. Only good for kids.

Power: disappointing to be honest. The IS350 feels a lot more brutal. The G37's power delivery is not as aggressive, even though the sounds comin from the engine and exhuast would have you think it should be. Despite 330 hp, it simply doesn't feel that much faster (if faster at all) than the IS350.

Overall, push come to shove, I like the IS350 better. If you want a coupe, why not get yourself into a 328i for about the same price? My girlfriend picked one up, and despite the horsepower deficit, the refinement and handling of that car is just superb, interior materials are fantastic, and imo looks much better than the G37 coupe.

Well, it’s a subjective opinion of course, but my G37 is much quieter than my old G35 that suffered from some road noise. Now compared to my wife’s IS250, I would say they are equally quiet.

I'm with you on that some people here are so quick to pull the Altima Coupe card all manufacturers make cars that are similar. One guy told me my SC reminded him of his Solara it's always going to be similarities. So which IS350 is going to be first to race a G37 or is everyone going to sit back and act scared and quote magazine numbers.
