Default Plastic engine covers?

I have the IS 250 and every time i pop the hood all i see is plastic engine covers. Dont these make it harder for your engine to cool and vent? Would it be good or bad to take them off. Let me know

thanks

I wouldn't take them off. I believe they are supposed to aid in noise reduction. With regard to heat and airflow in the engine compartment, I wouldn't try to outsmart the Lexus engineers.

Ya i guess you prove a good point. Would the engine covers still fit fine if you installed a new intake and a strut bar? Im sure the intake wouldnt be a problem, but the strut bar?

I'd say keep the plastic and keep your mods discreet, esp if cops in your area like to pull cars over to inspect for racing parts.
