Default Taste of Lexus coupon?

Guys,
I am right on the verge of trading up my IS300 for a IS250. There is a Taste of Lexus event coming up in LA. I read someone on this board refer to a discount coupon given at the event? True? I don't live in LA, but I'll drive there to Taste if it means getting a better discount on the car. BTW, I have on OTD price quoted from a local dealer. Don't know if it's cool to post that number or not, but really curious if the price is a good deal or not.

There are many threads posting good prices--that's what lured me and many others here. As for the coupon, get the dealer to cough one up for you if they want your biz.

Isn't the "coupon" really like an admission ticket? I went on the website, and all the slots were booked at the NJ event, so I was "wait listed".

After you attend the event, maybe a few days or weeks later, they email you a link to print out a personalized coupon for $750 off any lexus purchase (except LS460)... At least they did that last year at taste of lexus...

Oh wow, I see. I wonder if theyd give it to you if you were buying an IS for like 1500 under invoice...?

They give you the coupon regardless... And, when you go to the dealership, you don't give the coupon until AFTER you negotiate the final price... Then, they subtract $750 off whatever that price is, regardless if it's above or below invoice...

Yup, I used it for my under invoice deal back in December.

This is what happened for me last year. I signed up for the TOL, but was waitlisted and never did get to attend. Didn't show up at all, because there was no indication I got in. A few weeks (days?) later, they emailed me a coupon that expires December 27th that allows $750 off all models except for the LS460 which was going for MSRP and had a waiting list at the time.

It says clearly on the coupon to negotiate your best price, then apply the coupon. It works also for leases, as they will count that as a down payment. The only slight drawback is that the coupon is after tax, thus you are charged sales tax for your negotiated amount, not your after coupon amount, so that's about $60 there. But still a good deal. Dealer doesn't care if you use the coupon because they get reimbursed from Lexus marketing. So make sure in your negotiations not to mention the coupon at all, or else they will use it against you...

OK - hope this is cool, but here is the price for the IS250, no nav, Prem Package, spoiler, auto - OTD = $34625. What do you think?

^^^ I believe you can do better, especially for an '07. I'm trying to get the same one but without spoiler I'm looking at around $31k-$32k out the door.

Also, to those who has gotten coupon, can anyone confirm that it's guarantee and how long it usually takes? I've been itching for the 250 for a while now and I was planning on going this weekend but then this coupon cam along, i don't know if I could wait another month though, they might be all out of 07's by then.

Keep in mind my quote is Out the Door - all tax and license. I'm guessing that your $30,xxx is before tax and license?

GNG, think about it this way, an IS250 with premium package and spoiler goes for $29,805, invoice price. Most dealers, at least here in CA, are selling the IS250's for around $1k below invoice which would make it $28,805 and it's still possible to get it lower. With ttl, add 10% on top of it so that would be $31,685. If you want, you can try and haggle it to $31,000 but either way, it's better than $34,625.
