I have an 07 IS350 with a vaistech IPOD unit installed in it (its been in there for at least half a year). Recently the audio has started cutting in all modes, usually when I hit bumps in the road (radio, CDs, mp3s). When this happens, the audio unit is completely unresponsive, I cant control the volume, change the stations or anything. Nav and everything else still work fine. It can stay like this from anywhere between a few seconds and up to a few minutes, I basically sit there until it fixes itself. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like htis before or has any idea what the problem could be. Also should I take it into the people that installed the vaistech for me, or the dealer to check it out and if something like this would be covered by the warranty? Thanks for any advice I can get.
Probably an installation problem with the Vaistech. If the installer didn't take care to keep the connectors away from the heat of the transmission, they degrade and fail over time. Take a look at this post for a description with pictures: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&postcount=163
Thanks for the help! So I guess i'll take it to the place I got it installed to get it checked out. Now I'm just worried they're going to blame it on the Vaistech since I didn't buy it there...
