Default Poor starting performance

Hi all...looking for feedback. I picked up my '07 IS350 in May. After the first 1000 miles I started noticing that my car wouldn't start quick after pushing the button (typical start time is 1~2sec after you push the button). It sounds like the car is hesitating and wont turn over. This doesn't happen on a "cold start" after the car sat overnight. I typically get the problem after I've driven for 15mins and then restart after a few hours.

Dealer can't reproduce the problem, therfore cannot fix the problem. I only have 3000 miles on the vehicle, any suggestions!?!

Your car is in a learning curve. It will be all over soon.

I've never had this issue. If it's not too much trouble, set up an appointment now. Otherwise, wait until your 5000 mile service comes up and have them take a look at it then. Something doesn't sound right.

2000 miles learning curve? That seems a bit long.

I've not had this issue either.

Make sure the dealer documents your complaint in their records. Hopefully you'll figure out what specific conditions cause it to happen, so that you'll be able to reproduce the problem for the dealer.

I havent had that issue either, but if it were mine it just keep driving it and forget about it until it gets worse or no longer starts. Then you can take it in and they will for sure fix it. Either way just keep in mind that its all under warranty!

I would start documenting the starts with a video camera (good starts and bad starts). That way they can see proof that it is actually doing it.

Mine had around 5000km when the engine staled right after starting. This happened 3 times in the same month. This was after the dealer had done a complete reset. Since it hasn't happened since, now at 13000km, I believe it was all about the CPU learning...

There's a big difference between stalling and not starting.

By "hesitating", do you mean that the engine is turning over very slowly, like the battery is weak? Or is it not cranking at all? Or is it cranking normally, but just not starting?

Bichon,
Yes my car is cranking but not starting normally. Yesterday I documented all the bad starts (gotta love video phones!). I'm planning on taking it to the dealer this weekend. I don't think there is a learning curve (my '06 IS350) didn't have ANY starting problems. Sounds like I have a unique case

I thought the lemon law required something like 7 unsuccessful trips to the dealer. I'm not sure, but it may also vary by state.

Glad to hear that you at least convinced them that it is a real problem.
