Default Sequential blinkers?

Since we have double blinkers on our headlights does anyone with electronoc experience know if we can make them sequential instead of blinking at the same time?

My dad's '68 Cougar had those on the tail lights. I don't know why, with all the throwback designs these days, someone hasn't done this at the factory.

Hmmmm.... maybe if you put a capacitor in series with one and left the other alone it might give that same effect. i have no idea what size youd use though....

Weren't there three lights per side and didn't they sequence 1-2-3 from the center to the edge? It was pretty cool.

I suspect there is some vehicle code that says you can't have such alternating lights so you won't be confused with the police.
