TPMS Warning Question
Does anyone know what type of warning the 2IS gives when there are wheels without TPMS? Is it just a warning light on the dash or is there an audible warning as well like a beeping sound?

A big bright red-orange exclamation point on the instrument panel, and your center instrument panel display will show a warning rather than the temperature, mileage, etc.

Thanks for the responses. So can you change the display to show temp, mileage, etc. or are you not able to change the warning in the display. The reason I'm asking is that I am getting new wheels and I'm not sure if it is worth the $400 they are asking to install the TPMS or if it is something one can live with everytime you drive the car.

400 dls!!!!!!!! to install the sensors thats crazy go to another shop!!! if you are gonna use the same sensors they only need to put the sensors on your new wheels no need to reprogram sensors and to install the sensors on the wheels is very very easy!!!! unless your wheels are not compatible with sensors the other option you have is to put all 4 sensors in the spare tire and you are done, you are not gonna have the annoying light
btw the last time I change my wheels my local shop charged me 60 dls to change the oem tires to my new wheels with the sensors, americas tire quoted me 125dls

No, you can't. Well, more accurately you can change the display to show temp, mileage, etc., but a few seconds after you finish pushing the button it automatically reverts back to the warning screen.

Been wondering the same thing since I'm going to need a separate set of wheels with snow tires this winter. I was thinking I'll just do without the stupid sensors 3-4 months out of the year.

It's actually $98 per sensor from Lexus. The place where I'm getting the wheels will install them when they mount the tires. Are you saying I can just take the sensors off of my stock wheels and put them on the aftermarket wheels? Are there any compatability issues or does it work with any TPMS compatible wheel?
