So 2IS owners, it's interesting that...
im considering selling mine, its not the cost...... its the size, we have a new born and with the car seat facing backwards its difficult for anyone in the front to ride confortably. Also my wife is 5'10 and she says she feels cramped in the back with the baby (NO she is not fat) , im considering getting another v6 accord. I know I know, apples and oranges. But the EXv6 accord is a nice car, i just wish it was a RWD.
Honestly thier is not much out thier on the market that can compare to the IS value....
So now when we go anywhere the lexus sits quietly in the garage and we take the tahoe.

I say it's probably the cost and the room. For me, the issue isn't the room. I can live with it the way it is. The cost however can be really high which is part of why I haven't traded my 1st gen for the 2IS. Not to mention I love my 1IS too much to get rid of it.

Could be impractical, Lexus are luxury cars and demands to be looked after. If people buy them to trash around (poark anywhere and not look after them) then i think they will reconsider. Other thing is size and maybe maintenance.
I never did a lick of the "recommended" maintenance that the dealers always pushed on me. I did nothing more than the routine, bare bones maintenance that any and all vehicles would normally require. None of this fancy, radiator flush, etc.
My dad, who now owns an LS460L, always told me that the worst thing you can do with a Toyota or Lexus is the full blown dealer recommended maintenance. His philosophy is to change the oil, do the bare bones maintenance, and let the thing run.
He did that on my Celica, and the thing ran like new, even with 250k miles on it when I finally sold it to some college kid that needed a cheap and reliable car. I never saw a drop in gas mileage. College kid called me back a year later and told me that I was crazy to sell him the car.
Bottom line is that you shouldn't let the package fool you. The car is still a Toyota at the end of the day. In fact, Toyota dealers would be more than happy to service your Lexus at half the price that Lexus would charge you. I've seen some Lexus service departments that are shared with their Toyota counterparts. The patrons pay double when the enter the Lexus service department. I guess the cappucino and cookies must be worth it.
No no, I think of Lexus as toyota too. My first new car was a 83 Celica GT *bought new by parents 1yr after i got my lic. which i promptly trashed within 2yrs* followed by 5 corollas (3 '72 sr-5 coupes/1 72 2dr right hand wagon/1 '84 SR-5)... i can go on but i wont... In 95 i moved to japan and learned about drifting *ppl here were clueless then*, while there i saw all types of toyotas (aristo/crown/celsior/windom...ect). To me its all toyota and there is nothing wrong with that... when ppl say, 'ohh its a Lexus...' i smile inside like how a parent looks at a child and smiles, i want to say 'no its a toyota' but in america here its a image thingy... hey w/e floats your boat i guess.
I popped open the hood of the new Camry and was amazed at the similarities to the IS350.
By the way, a fully loaded Camry can be had for nearly $8K less than a 350.
I don't think it's becuase it's auto... I'd imagine most people knew the car was auto before they signed the papers. Maybe the combination of letters and numbers that read "335i" or "G37" caught their eye?

If it was possible to know the average age of the ppl selling their new cars it may explain something. Mid life guys thinking their getting a sporty lexus then discovering the ride isnt so es/ls like... Young guys thinking their getting a sporty lexus and the ride/power isnt so evo/sti like... ppl with bad karma who buy a new car and something else happens in their life where they need the money... the possibilities are endless really. Speculation is fun thou on forums
I have to sell all my cars yearly cause of the millage i put on them and its always in the private market so i dont have to suffer the depresiation process. my 250 have 12000 miles and i bought it on dec. 06 but im going for the 350 full package now just the look of this car its worth having it again and of course more ponies not bad at all.
ps. also thinking of buying one of those 40k minivan for my wife it is worth it !
