So 2IS owners, it's interesting that...
...I'm seeing so many 2IS's for sale on classifieds! Most of them barely hit its 2nd oil change and they're already being sold to others at not much less than invoice price. Do you guys notice that as well? If yes, I'm trying to figure out why.
'cause it's auto or too small.
Probably because it's auto.
Because they can't afford it. :p
because they can't afford it anymore. or they realize how small the car is.
they regret not getting a 350 :)
If you look on craigslist there is maybe 2 or 3 but they are all lease and say I cant afford the payments or i dont know what i was thinking when buying this car i cant afford to pay off. But there all selling for probably more then they bought it for
I think that most people who turn them that quickly simply realized that they needed a larger car and were mistaken in thinking that just because the IS has four doors they would be able to make a family sedan out of it.
I think it's the size and not the cost. I mean, it's really not that expensive of a car to afford...
And "many" is a relative term. Is there actual data out there on what percent of IS's sold are up for resale within a year?
I'm sure you find plenty of other brands for sale on the classifieds too. We need hard data to say whether there's an abnormally high number. Even if true, it wouldn't surprise me. The IS shopper is often an young, impulsive guy who gets bored with their car quickly. They don't think when they buy too soon, and they don't think when they sell too soon... I'm sure the older segment that buys the GS's and the minivans bought the car more for need than vanity, and wouldn't be willing to eat the meat of the depreciation so easily either. |

you just described me!:D I have had 5 cars in 3 years! and im 19. I guess i get bored quickly. I have managed to keep the same girlfriend in that 3 year time though. |
im considering selling mine, its not the cost...... its the size, we have a new born and with the car seat facing backwards its difficult for anyone in the front to ride confortably. Also my wife is 5'10 and she says she feels cramped in the back with the baby (NO she is not fat) , im considering getting another v6 accord. I know I know, apples and oranges. But the EXv6 accord is a nice car, i just wish it was a RWD.
Honestly thier is not much out thier on the market that can compare to the IS value.... So now when we go anywhere the lexus sits quietly in the garage and we take the tahoe. |
Cause maybe they want a 335i :p I want more power and theres nothing offered really for the IS, I know theres a SC but it seems to suck and not worth the effort.

ROFL the size, usally when ppl are gonna buy a car they get on the net and read the reviews. Every review i've read said, 'cramped back seats', EVERY REVIEW... Thing is, at first i worried about this so before i bought the car i took my parents to 'try out the back' *cough*not in THAT way*cough*. Were asian, my parents had no complaints saying, 'oh this is not cramped'. If your a 6ft tall and your family is 6ft tall and your wife/gf is 6ft tall, all i have to say to you is, why are you looking at a asian car made for asian size ppl??? Lack of brain cells if you ask me...
Cost, yea... even thou i bought this car outright i now have no 'safety net' for those emergency bills that seem to magically appear, this worries me until i walk out the kitchen door and see my car...my... precious... |
