Default lexus nav question

I'm curious, are lexus nav discs car specific? If I have an es300 and an is350, would either nav disc work in either one?

It will not work on the ES300.

The 2IS Nav discs are for 5th generation nav systems, which work for the '06+ GS, '06+ IS, and '07+ ES.

The '07+ LS has a completely different nav system due to possible integration of NavTraffic.

They're interchangeable as long as they're the same generation.

Keep in mind the 07GS has gen 5, different from the 06.

ah, so 07 ES's are actually es350's now right? Not sure how to tell generations otherwise.

Actually I believe the 2nd generation IS (2006 and later models) are 5th generation navigation systems.

Yes. They are different.

The '06 ES300 has the 4rd gen. The '06 ISx50 has the 5th gen.

Well not quite true with the GS, IIRC 06 GS have gen 4 and only the 07 GS350 has gen 5. I believe the 07 GS430 still has gen 4, since it's been dc'd and is special order only (everyone's waitin for the GS460) . . .

So where does the es330 fit into all of this? too many models to keep track of generations of nav.

I cant even remember if the 300 was made in 06, it was actually a 330

06 ES would be 330.

Didn't know the 3GS430 has gen 4 >_<

haha, stick to a naming scheme!!! no more changing the numbers.

We should compile an actual list of generation-nav/year/model
