Default Metallic interior trim from dealer...

I stopped by the parts deptartment at Ray Catena yesterday in search of metallic interior trim. I was quoted over $450 for just the center console trim (shift surround, cup holder lid, ash-tray lid). I didn't bother to ask how much more the four door trim pieces would cost. The guy proceeded to ask me why I wanted to swap the more expensive wood trim for metallic.

At this point, I'm almost willing to fork up the money for it. Anyone know of any alternative methods for me to obtain metallic trim?

So, you want to change from wood to metallic trim?

Just post a Want-Ad in the IS250/350 forum. Find someone willing to trade their stock metallic trim for your wood trim.

We've had a few members do the swap already...

The CF kit looks hot, but I don't like the idea of laying it over my current trim. I'd rather stick with replacement parts.

I want OEM metallic trim. End of story.

It's crazy to pay that kind of money for metallic painted plastic. I covered my metallic trim with the CF kit and you would not know the difference if you weren't told. But if you have to have the OEM stuff it you will pay through the nose, unless you can swap with someone on the board. Good luck, as I don't think it will be that easy.

CF trim kit + can of metallic paint = better look than original painted trim (and probably more durable).

Huh? Wood?... where is the wood?
It's all made in plastics that is pretending to be woods.

I will do everything to get rid off the cheap woods in the car. I wish I can swap the set if ISF comes with better stuff.

Its like $300 for the center console + cupholder at sewell lexus.

If you were closer to DC, I would split the cost with you to switch(Since my center console doesnt have a cutout for the heat/AC

You so crazy!

And misinformed. It's real wood. A thin layer applied and veneered onto plastic. May not be a block of wood, but it is wood nonetheless.

Perhaps you were thinking of the fake wood on the G35...
