No, unless your gunning it from light to light I wouldn't put a long life expectancy on it but they are pretty durable.

The mitts are for the parts you are required to heat to over 200F before installation. Like the countershaft drive gear (6th) and the input shaft bearing.

And you do all this yourself? If you don't mind me asking what do you do for a living.

I make money at computer security sales. I work for a managed security service provider. I'm the tech rep on the sales call - bits & bytes, speeds & feeds, basic architecture, etc...

I've worked on (and raced) cars and bikes since I can remember - I grew up with my dad building and racing circle track cars, so none of the mechanical work is difficult for me. I also worked in a shop doing engine building and cylinder head work for a few years while on active duty with the Air Force (aircraft maintenance at that time), so I've been exposed to a lot of different mechanical systems.
