Hey all~

Are you able to unlock the rear doors on the IS by touching the rear door handles?

How about on the GS, ES & LS? (I've noticed that these models have the black "lock buttons" on the rear door handles).

Just curious before I make my purchase... TIA!

 

i just ran downstairs and tried it. NOPE

No, but you can program your car (Key Remote) so that when you touch the front handle all the doors will unlock...

 

i know the GS has it, think the LS does too. IS does not however

 

The current IS and ES do not have the "touch sensor" in the rear door handles.

The current GS and LS do.

 

I know a guy who installed front door handle to rear door on his 2IS.
He said it work fine.

My Dad's ES is in the garage right now and it has the door handles on the rear doors. Maybe its a new thing in the 07s.

Yes but with the doors locked and the key in pocket, can you touch the rear door handle (either one) and unlock the other doors with THAT handle? Thats the question.

 

absolutely. i changed the way my 2is is programmed. when it touch the front driver's door handle, all doors unlock....including the rear doors. so when i walk up to my car and i want to load something into the backseat before i drive away in the car, i walk right past the locked front driver's door handle and just touch it slightly without opening that door and then go straight to the back door and open it and load the back seat.

 

The '07 ES has the lock buttons on aal 4 handles, so i'm gueeing it has unlock sensors too.

 

The back door handles unlock too on the 07 ES when touched. I tried it on my loaner.
